Privacy at Dental Link: what we record, and what we never do.
Dental Link records which pages you read on this website. That tells us which of our guides help people. We use two small cookies that our own server sets. What those two cookies hold never leaves us. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. We load Google Analytics only if you tap Accept. You can change that any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. We run no advertising trackers. We sell and share nothing. We never store your IP address.
What Dental Link records when you browse this website
The two cookies we set: a visitor id and a session id
On your first visit to this website, our server sets a cookie named dl_vid. A cookie is a small piece of data your browser keeps for a website. This one holds a random id. It is not your name, your email or your device id. It lets us see that the same person read three of our guides before getting in touch. Without it, we would count that person as three strangers.
The cookie lasts 400 days. It is marked HttpOnly. A script is a piece of code that runs on a web page. HttpOnly means no script on the page can read this cookie, including any script we might ever add. The second cookie holds a session id. A session is one visit to this website.
The pages you open, and the site that sent you to us
For each page you open on this website, we record the time and the path. The path is the page's address on our site. We also record the website or campaign that sent you here. Our hosting provider tells us the country your internet connection comes from, and we keep that. We also keep whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop.
We keep this basic record on our own server, so it works whether or not you block trackers. Two analytics tools also run on this website. The next card explains them, and how you choose what the Google one does.
The two analytics tools, and the choice you make
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies. It does not follow you between websites. It just counts how many people read each page.
We also use Google Analytics. It runs only if you tap Accept on the cookie banner. If you accept, it uses cookies. It shows us which pages you read, your rough location by country, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop. We turn off its advertising features. It records which buttons you tap, for example the WhatsApp or booking buttons, never what you type. We never send it your quiz answers, your name, your email or your phone number. You can change your choice any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
What we record when you tap a WhatsApp button
When you tap a WhatsApp button on this website, we record the click. We also put a short reference code into the message we prepare for you. The code tells our team which page you were reading. Then the person who answers knows what you were looking at. You can delete the code before sending. Nothing breaks if you do.
Your quiz answers, if you choose to send them
This website has a quiz that asks about your case. You may fill it in and send it to us. If you do, we keep your name, contact details and the answers you gave. That is information you typed and chose to send us. We keep it so a real person can help you. It is the only place your email is stored in a readable form.
What Dental Link never does with your information
- We never sell your information, and we never share it for anyone else's use. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Three companies handle data for us so the site can work. Cloudflare hosts the site and the database, and counts visits with its own analytics, which sets no cookies. Google serves the two fonts, and runs Google Analytics if you accept it. Once our email service is live, Resend will send the emails we write to you. Each one sees only what its job needs, and none may use it for anything else.
- We run no advertising pixel or tracker on this site. A pixel is a hidden piece of tracking code from another company. No ad company is watching you here. The analytics above only count how our pages are used.
- We never store your IP address. Your IP address is the number that identifies your internet connection. We read which country your internet connection comes from. We do not keep the IP address itself.
- We never send your details to a clinic without telling you. Your case goes to our network of clinics for quotes. Your name and contact details are removed until you choose a clinic.
- We do not use your information to make a medical decision. Clinical questions are answered by the dentist treating you.
How you control what Dental Link holds about you
You can delete our visitor cookie at any time
To delete our visitor cookie, dl_vid, clear the site data for this website in your browser. Nothing on this site stops working. Your next visit starts a new random id, with no link to the old one.
Ask Dental Link to delete your record
To have your record deleted, message us on WhatsApp. If you have a Dental Link portal, the page that shows your case, you can also message us from there. We delete what we hold about you within 30 days. That includes anything you sent through the quiz. The moment a message asking for deletion arrives, it creates a task for our founder. We do not need a reason, and we will confirm when it is done.
This privacy page describes what the Dental Link website does today. If we change what we record, we change this page at the same time. Last updated 7 October 2026.
