Bali veneers vs Vietnam: what they cost, side by side.
Bali veneers run about IDR 4.5M to 6.5M per tooth for porcelain, roughly A$360 to A$520, on the Bali clinic price lists in this guide. Composite is cheaper, around IDR 1M to 2M per tooth, and is often done in a single visit. The price that counts is a written quote, because the material, the tooth and the number of teeth all change it. This guide gives sourced Bali prices first, then sets them beside Vietnam.
When we have no price source we can open, we leave the number out rather than guess.

What Veneers Cost in Bali
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth, the same in Bali as anywhere. Here is the honest answer on what they cost, from three published Bali clinic price lists we opened ourselves on 11 October 2026.
Across three published Bali clinic lists, porcelain and E.max veneers are listed from IDR 4.5M to 6.5M a tooth. At a mid-market rate that is about A$360 to A$520.
One of those lists prices a tougher front tooth at IDR 8,000,000 per tooth, about A$640. A chipped tooth and a full smile are not the same job.
Composite veneers in Bali are cheaper than porcelain, about IDR 1M to 2M per tooth on two of the lists we opened, and usually need only a single visit.
A price per tooth is not a full quote
- Ask what the price covers: the consult, the lab work and any temporary ones
- Ask how many teeth are in the number, and which teeth
- Ask about follow-up visits, and who pays if one is needed
- Flights, a hotel and time off are extra, and you pay those yourself
We are not dentists, and we do not place or check clinics in Bali. We publish Bali figures only so you can compare them with Vietnam on the same page.

Why the Bali number moves so much
A veneer is not one product. Porcelain, E.max and composite are different materials, with different prices and lifespans. The tooth, the number of teeth and the laboratory move the figure too. That is why a headline price per tooth and a real plan are not the same thing. A good clinic writes the material, the teeth and the warranty into the quote before you agree to anything.
Bali Veneers vs Vietnam
Now set Bali beside Vietnam, using sourced prices only. We show each figure in the currency its source used.
| What you are comparing | Bali | Vietnam, through Dental Link |
|---|---|---|
| Porcelain veneer, per tooth | IDR 4.5M to 6.5M for each tooth, across three lists | From US$250. That is a starting price, and we have not yet checked it against our own clinics' price lists. Your own figure is the clinic's written quote. |
| Composite veneer | Cheaper than porcelain, often one visit. Two lists put it near IDR 1M to 2M. | Offered too. The price comes from your written quote. |
| Who checks the clinic | You do, from home | An advisor who lives in the clinic's city checks it in person, then sits beside you |
| What you pay Dental Link | Dental Link does not work in Bali | Nothing. The price is the same as booking the clinic yourself. |
Bali has a long, well known cosmetic dental scene, fast composite work and a holiday built around the trip. Those are real reasons people pick it.
On the lists we opened, Bali porcelain and Vietnam porcelain land close together. So neither is clearly cheaper from a price list alone, and your own written quote is what decides it. To see the gap against your home quote, put your numbers into our cost calculator.

If You Are in the United States
Bali is a long way from the United States, so this page is written mainly for Australian readers. Here is the honest picture for an American weighing it up.
There is no nonstop service from the US mainland to Bali. The trip means a connection through an Asian hub and close to a full day in the air each way. That distance is a big reason Bali's dental visitors are mostly Australian, since for them it is a short, familiar hop. If the draw is the saving rather than the island itself, it is worth widening the search.
Vietnam tends to suit a US trip better, because the flight is more direct. Vietnam Airlines flies San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh City with no stops in about 16 hours 20 minutes, and says it is the only carrier on that route without a change of plane. Dental Link helps patients from the US the same way it helps anyone: it is free to use, nothing is paid before you fly, and the clinic charges you what it would if you walked in alone. Porcelain veneers in Vietnam start from US$250 per tooth. That is a starting price only, and your own figure arrives as the clinic's written quote, which you read at home. The veneers in Vietnam page shows how it works.

Is It Worth Getting Veneers in Bali?
Only you and a dentist can answer that for your own teeth. Here is a fair picture of both sides.
What Bali does well
- A deep cosmetic dental scene that caters to visitors
- Composite work that is often finished in one visit
- A holiday wrapped around the treatment
- Clinic price lists many visitors find lower than they expected
The trade-offs to weigh
- Any follow-up is a flight away
- You vet the clinic and read the quote yourself
- A return trip, if a veneer needs fixing, is on you to arrange
- Clinic and lab quality vary by place, as they do anywhere
This work is elective and the change is permanent, so take your time. A clinical question about your own teeth belongs with the dentist who examines you, not with us.
Porcelain and Composite: How Long They Last
Porcelain and composite are the two main types, and they behave differently over time.
Porcelain
Thin ceramic shells. They look natural, resist stains and tend to be stronger. Porcelain often lasts about 10 to 15 years with good care.
Composite
Tooth coloured resin, shaped on the tooth. It costs less, can be built up in one visit and can be repaired. Composite lasts about 5 to 7 years.
What moves the figure
Grinding, diet and gum health all change how long a veneer lasts. A night guard is often advised if you grind your teeth at night.
Getting porcelain veneers usually means taking off a thin layer of enamel, so the change cannot be undone. They can cover stains, chips, small gaps and worn or oddly shaped teeth. They do not straighten teeth, fix your bite or treat decay. If a tooth has decay or gum disease, a dentist treats that first.

Common Questions About Bali Veneers
How much do veneers cost in Bali?
Across the lists we opened, porcelain and E.max veneers come to roughly IDR 4.5M to 6.5M each. A more complex front tooth is listed higher, up to IDR 8,000,000. Composite work costs less, roughly IDR 1M to 2M, and is often finished in one appointment. Your own figure comes from a written, itemised quote, since material, tooth and tooth count all move it.
Is it worth getting teeth done in Bali?
It can be, for the right person. Bali has a long cosmetic dental scene, quick composite work, and a holiday around the trip, and many people travel there for the price. The trade-offs are distance for any follow-up, checking the clinic yourself, and sorting out a return trip if something needs fixing later. Veneers are elective and permanent, so your treating dentist should decide what suits your teeth.
Which country is best for veneers?
There is no single best country for veneers. The clinic and the dentist matter far more than the map. Bali, Vietnam, Thailand and others all have skilled clinics and weaker ones. What counts is who checks the clinic, reads the quote line by line, and helps if a problem turns up after you fly home.
What is the 4-8-10 rule for veneers?
It is an informal smile-design guide, not a fixed rule. The numbers point to how many veneers a smile might need: about 4 for the upper front teeth, 8 for a wider smile, and 10 for a fuller upper row. No dental body sets it. Your dentist decides the number from your smile, your lips and your teeth.
How long can teeth rot under veneers?
There is no set time. A veneer covers the front of a tooth, but it does not stop decay. If the tooth beneath decays, or the edge of the veneer leaks, decay can spread and the veneer may need to come off and be redone. Good brushing, flossing and regular check-ups are what keep that from happening.
What is a cheaper option than veneers?
A few options can cost less, depending on the problem. If the issue is colour, teeth whitening may be enough. If teeth are crooked, braces or clear aligners are the tool, because veneers do not straighten teeth. Composite bonding is a lower cost, less invasive cosmetic fix than porcelain. Your dentist can say which one fits your case.
Why do dentists advise against veneers?
Some dentists are cautious because porcelain veneers remove enamel and the change cannot be undone. Veneers are not right for everyone, for example if you grind your teeth or have gum disease. They can also chip and may need replacing over the years. A careful dentist checks your teeth and talks through other options first.
What are the new fake teeth called?
People usually mean removable clip-on or snap-on veneers. These sit over your own teeth without any drilling, and they are cosmetic only. No-prep veneers, which are very thin and need little or no enamel removed, are another newer option. Your dentist can explain what suits your teeth.
Can I bite an apple with veneers?
Usually yes, with a little care. Veneers are strong, and most people eat normally. But they can chip or crack, so many dentists suggest not biting very hard things, like ice or a whole apple, straight on with your front teeth. Cutting hard fruit into pieces is the safer habit.
What are E-max veneers, and what do they cost in Bali?
E.max is a strong glass ceramic used for veneers and crowns, and it is prized for looking natural while holding up well. On the Bali lists we opened, E.max and porcelain veneers are listed at IDR 4.5M to 6.5M each. The figure for your own case still comes from a written quote.
How do I find the best dentist in Bali for veneers?
Check a few things yourself. Look for a registered, qualified dentist. Ask which material and which laboratory they use. Get a written, itemised quote, not just a headline price per tooth. Ask about the warranty, and who you call if a veneer fails after you fly home. We do not name or rank Bali clinics, because Dental Link works only in Vietnam. Our clinic vetting checklist lists the same questions to put to any clinic yourself.
How does getting veneers in Vietnam compare?
Vietnam is the other low cost option many Australians weigh up. In Vietnam, the starting price for a porcelain veneer is US$250 per tooth. It is not a quote, and Dental Link has not yet verified it with its own clinics' price lists. Your own price is the figure on the clinic's written quote. Through Dental Link, two vetted clinics send written quotes that name the material, the lab and the warranty. It is 100% free for patients, there are no deposits, and the price is the same as booking the clinic yourself.
Do veneers hurt to get?
Most people feel little during the work. The tooth is numbed with a local anaesthetic while a thin layer is shaped, and any soreness afterward is usually mild and short. If you feel anxious, tell the dentist, who can talk you through what each visit involves.
How do I look after veneers so they last?
Treat them like your own teeth, with a little extra care. Brush and floss every day, keep up regular dental visits, and go easy biting very hard things with your front teeth. If you grind in your sleep, a night guard protects the edges. Good habits are what keep them in good shape.
Do veneers stain, or can they be whitened?
Porcelain resists stains well but will not lighten later, so the shade is set when they are made. Composite can pick up stains over the years and may dull. Because neither responds to whitening gel, many dentists lighten your natural teeth first, then match the new ones to that shade.
What is the difference between veneers and crowns?
A veneer is a thin shell on the front of a tooth, while a crown caps the whole tooth. A dentist leans toward a crown when a lot of the tooth is broken or heavily filled, and toward a shell when the tooth is sound and the change is mainly cosmetic. Which one suits you is a call for the dentist who examines you.
Can Americans get veneers in Vietnam?
Yes. US patients use the same free service as anyone: a short call, then written quotes from two vetted clinics to weigh up at home. The main difference is the trip, and there is a nonstop to Vietnam from the US West Coast, which this page covers higher up.
Is it worth flying from the US to Bali for veneers?
For most Americans it is a long way to go. With no nonstop flight from the US mainland, you change planes at an Asian hub and lose close to a full day each way, which is why Bali draws mainly Australian visitors. If Asia appeals for the saving, Vietnam is the easier reach from the US, so it is worth a look too.
